Due to the good relationship between Vanhout and Schellekens, a collaboration was established in which Carli allowed his eight-years-younger brother-in-law ever more, yet controlled, design freedom, first in the façades and later also in the plans. We can see the relationship between the pair in the Hoogstraten Health Centre, also from 1963. The composition of two clear building blocks, one in light and one in dark brick, and the simple façade compositions with high-level strip windows, among other things, fit perfectly into the way that Vanhout had followed this austere late modernism. The reinforcement of the windows by adding extra lines, the waterspout with chain and tank, and the sloping walls around the building are more additions by Schellekens, who drew up the façades.
